What a phenomenal season it has been for our U14A team, who joined in the celebrations at the Mini World Cup on Friday night where they were officially presented with their league title medals at the clubhouse in Ballycullen.

This group of players have gone from strength-to-strength over the past couple of seasons achieving the rare feat of consecutive league titles after back-to-back promotions, sealing this year’s title with a last-day, winner-takes-all, top-of-the-table 2-0 victory against second place Ardmore Rovers.

On top of that they only recently returned from a seven-game tournament in the Netherlands, where they recorded some hugely impressive results against top teams from Denmark, the Netherlands and Belgium; scoring 12 goals, conceding only 3 while keeping 5 clean sheets. Not only did they bring home another trophy but they also received the UEFA Respect Fair Play award for their positive attitude and sportsmanship throughout and can be immensely proud of their efforts.

The players are to be applauded for their achievements, which has all been down to their hard-work, dedication and desire to improve each day in the sport they love.

All eyes are already looking to next season now where they will be aiming to complete a unique treble of league titles, but first a welcome summer break and a chance for all to celebrate and reflect on their remarkable achievements.
